How it works
Step 1
Drop your images
Drag in one image or a whole batch. Compression starts instantly — no upload, no waiting on a server.
Step 2
Pick a target or quality
Choose an exact file size like 100 KB, or set a quality level. Switch formats between WebP, JPEG, and PNG live.
Step 3
Download
Grab each image individually, or download the whole batch as a ZIP. Everything stays on your device.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, so it is safe for private or sensitive files.
How does “compress to a target size” work?
For JPEG and WebP, the tool searches the quality setting to land just under your target size in KB. If the smallest quality is still too large, it gradually reduces the dimensions until it fits.
Why is PNG different in target mode?
PNG is lossless and has no quality knob, so the only way to shrink it to a target is to reduce its dimensions. For small targets, WebP or JPEG will usually look much better at the same size.
Which format should I choose?
WebP gives the smallest files at good quality and is supported by all modern browsers. JPEG is the most universally compatible for photos. PNG is best when you need lossless quality or transparency.
Is there a limit on how many images I can compress?
You can compress as many images as your browser can handle in a session. Larger batches use more memory, so very large sets are processed a few at a time.
